Orange Knowledge Programme is a fully-funded scholarship for international students; this scholarship is available for short courses and masters at different institutes in The Netherlands.

The Orange Knowledge Programme aims to improve the performance, knowledge, and ability of individuals and organizations, both in higher education and vocational training, as well as other areas related to the main topics of the program nations.

The Netherlands Fellowship Programs entered a brand new phase as a program named the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP). The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated the program, and it is fully funded.

Program Period:

  • Short courses (duration: 2 weeks to 12 months).
  • Master’s programmers (duration: 12-24 months)

Orange Knowledge Programme Eligibility

These points are important to consider if you want to be eligible for The Orange Knowledge Programme:

  • Required Languages: English
  • Scholarship applicants must be citizens of a country on the OKP list and reside and work in that country.
  • Scholarship applicants work for any of the following national or local organizations: Ministries, higher or secondary vocational or academic institutions, Universities, the private sector, or commissions.
  • The applicant for the scholarship cannot work for a multilateral or bilateral organization. They must be a nongovernmental organization with an international activity that represents social interests such as those in development cooperation, environmental protection, human rights, health, or nature.
  • The scholarship candidate is a professional with (1) a relevant role, (2) a number of years of work experience relevant to the local development theme, and (3) a network within that theme. He/she is either in a good position or could be in a better position through his/her employer to put what he/she has learned into practice.
  • The applicant has a valid ID document.
  • The applicant for the OKP scholarship has been accepted into the program or course that he/she wants.
  • If the local government requires it, the applicant must provide a government declaration with their scholarship application (see Government Statement Requirement).
  • The applicant must demonstrate that the requested percentage of co-funding is available for the study.
  • The employer of a scholarship applicant endorses the application by providing a positive reference. It also declares that the scholarship recipient will be paid during the course of the program and will have the opportunity to put what they learned into practice after their return.

  2. For more information, contact the Dutch higher education institution offering the course.
  • The course content.
  • The deadline for submitting a scholarship application (deadlines may vary per Dutch institution).
  • The scholarship application process and the selection criteria.
  • The online application form and the required documents must be made available.
  • A valid passport copy.
  • A statement from your employer, depending on where you work.
  • A statement by the government
