Scholarship Description
ACI Foundation Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship or fellowship available to international students. This scholarship is available for undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., and master’s studies; this scholarship offers a $10,000 to $15,000 US educational stipend that can be used for tuition, housing, books, and materials.
The American Concrete Institute established the ACI Foundation as a non-profit to promote advancement, innovation, and cooperation. It also serves as a resource for concrete industry management, providing strategic direction and thoughtful management.
The ACI Foundation Scholarship Council selects scholarship and fellowship recipients based on the essays, information submitted, and endorsements; these recipients will have the best combination of interest and potential to achieve professional success in the sector.

ACI Foundation Scholarships (Fellowships) Details
Program Period: Student Fellowship award recipients can apply for and compete to win these awards from year to year; however, they must reapply every year as long as their eligibility remains.
Scholarship Coverage
The ACI Foundation Scholarships and Fellowships offer the following benefits to the recipients:
- The US Educational Stipend is between $10,000 and $15,000 for tuition, housing, books, materials, and other costs.
- Travel expenses and convention fees paid to attend two ACI conventions. (Finalists must be interviewed at the Spring ACI Convention, where they can choose to receive a Convention Guide).
- Finding you a mentor in your industry.
ACI Foundation Scholarship Eligibility
The following criteria must be met by applicants to qualify for ACI Foundation Scholarship:

If English isn’t your first language, you must attach a statement attesting to this.
Eligible Countries:
- All Countries
- ACI Foundation Fellowships are available to all students in the world, but the recipient must be enrolled in a university located in the Gulf Cooperation Council (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates).
- ACI Foundation Fellowships are available to international students. However, they must be enrolled in a US or Canadian institution during the award period.
- Some fellowships require the recipient to complete an internship of 10 to 12 weeks during the summer of 2024.
- The ACI Foundation will notify the applicants who are selected as finalists. They must be present at an interview with the Scholarship Council on March 27, 2024, during the spring ACI Concrete convention. The ACI Foundation pays for the flight, hotel, and registration and will also include a travel allowance.
- All applicants are required to be fluent in English. You can upload your TOEFL scores if English isn’t your first language; this is an optional step and not mandatory.
- The educational stipend will be paid directly to the student in two equal payments over the course of a year to cover costs related to tuition, room, board, books, fees, etc. Attendance at ACI Concrete Conventions scheduled during the awarding cycle is required to receive stipends.
- Near the end of the fellowship period, fellowship awardees will be expected to submit a report describing how the fellowship has helped them to develop personally and prepare for their career choice after graduation.
