Scholarship Description

Onsi Sawiris scholarship program 2024/2025 provides full funding for undergraduate and graduate students from around the world; this scholarship includes full tuition and living allowance as well as travel, health, and insurance.

The Onsi Sawiris scholarship program is available to students from Egypt who wish to pursue undergraduate and master’s degrees at top USA universities. The scholarships will be awarded based on merit and character, as demonstrated by academic brilliance, entrepreneurial initiative, and extracurricular activities. Scholarships include tuition and living allowance, as well as travel insurance and health coverage, as already stated. Scholarship recipients can also choose to intern at the company.

Orascom Construction began the Onsi Sawiris Program, a company-sponsored educational program, in 2000. The goal was to invest resources into programs that would improve the communities where it operated; this program in Egypt is an example of private sector involvement in educational programs; this program aims to support the academic and character development of young Egyptians, giving them the tools they need to further their careers.

Candidates who haven’t lived, studied, or been employed abroad for an extended period will be given preference.

The Onsi Sawiris scholarship covers tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, health, and travel insurance, as well as a full-time living allowance.

Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the Onsi Sawiris scholarship program:

For Undergraduates

  • The applicants must be Egyptian citizens and residents of Egypt.
  • Students who plan to begin their studies in the USA. in 2025.
  • Commit to returning to Egypt for a period of two years after completing their Bachelor’s degree.
  • You have not lived abroad for more than three years.
  • iBT TOEFL 100 or higher
  • GPA 3.5/90% in Thanaweyya Amma Certification (Secondary Year) or equivalent certificates
  • Minimum SAT I Score:
    • Old SAT (before May 2017): Overall 2100 Math: 700 Reading: 700 Writing: 700
    • New SAT (after May 2017): Overall 1450 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 730 Math 730
  • Or SAT II in three subjects: 600 or more.
  • Take part in extracurricular activities.

For Masters

  • Egyptian citizens who reside in Egypt. (Preference is given to those without dual nationality).
  • Plan to pursue a master’s in Business Administration or Engineering at one of the best universities in the United States.
  • You have not lived abroad for more than three years.
  • Commit to returning to Egypt for a period of two years after receiving their Bachelor’s degree.
  • TOEFL: iBT of 100 or more
  • GPA: 3.5 or higher (Overall grade).
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the field.
  • MBA – GMAT 650 or higher (taken in the last 5 years).
  • Extracurricular Activities: You have been or are involved in an extracurricular activity.
  • The old GRE scores are no longer accepted.
  • New GRE scores: Minimum acceptable
    • Overall: 302
    • Analytical Writing: Level 4.5
  • Engineering, Business Administration, and Construction Management are the three main fields of study.

Important notes:

  • Candidates who have a Master’s Degree in Egypt but are in a different technical field than the one for which they are applying will be considered.
  • The application of candidates who already hold a Master’s Degree from a foreign institution or an Egyptian Master’s Degree in the same subject will be rejected.
  • The selection as a candidate for the Onsi Sawiris scholarship program does not guarantee acceptance into a university. The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program will only support applicants in their application to the universities listed below. The Onsi Sawiris scholarship program award will be given to the nominees once the university has accepted them.
  • Candidates who haven’t lived, studied, or worked abroad for an extended period will be given preference.
  • Only the universities listed on this list are eligible to receive the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program.

Undergraduate Scholarship
