Scholarship Description
Rotary Peace Fellowships are scholarships that provide full funding for international students; these scholarships are available only for masters degree studies. Rotary Peace Fellowships Program includes tuition, fees, room and board, round-trip transport, and all field and internship study expenses.
Rotary Peace Fellowships can be awarded to as many as 150 students per year; these fellowships scholarships can be used to pursue a Professional Development Certificate or Masters Degree related to peace, conflict resolution and prevention.
Rotary Peace Centers has trained over 1,400 fellows since 2002; they now work in 115 different countries. Many of them are leaders in government, NGOs, and other organizations; they also work as educators, police officers, military personnel, or for international organizations such as the United Nations.

The number of scholarships is up to 50 for master’s degrees and 80 for certificate studies at top universities each year.
Peace, international development, and leadership are the three main areas of focus.

Rotary Peace Fellowships Scholarship Eligibility
Rotary Peace Fellowships were designed for professionals who have experience in international relations, peace, and conflict resolution or prevention. The applicant must also meet these requirements:
- All countries of the world are eligible.
- It is highly recommended that you have a good command of English.
- Leadership skills that are exceptional
- Demonstrated commitment to peace and international understanding through academic and professional achievements, personal service, or community service
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of full-time or part-time experience in a related field.
- Certificate applicants: Minimum five years related full-time or volunteer work experience; strong academic background
How to Apply
Follow these instructions to apply for Rotary Peace Fellows:
- Check the eligibility criteria and restrictions.
- You can find out more about the programs and curriculum at each of the Rotary peace centers. You will be asked which two Rotary Peace Centers you prefer.
- Prepare your application by including your CV, essays, recommendations from academics or professionals, transcripts, and test scores. All materials must be written in English.
- Before submitting an application, contact your local Rotary District to request an interview; the application process requires district endorsement. Your local Rotary Club can help you get in touch with your district; find the nearest club using ClubFinder. Candidates who are supported by their district can still benefit from club interviews and recommendations, but they are not required.
- Your district must receive your online Application by 15 May before you can attend any interviews.
- Interview with representatives of your district. By 1 July, districts must endorse The Rotary Foundation.
- Wait for the results of your selection in November. You will learn which Peace Center will host you if you receive a fellowship.
- You can apply for admission at the University where your Peace Center is located. The selection for the fellowship does NOT mean that you are admitted to the University.
