Scholarship Description
In recognition of academic excellence, the Faculty of Graduate Studies awards University Graduate Fellowships (UMGFs) worth more than $2 million each year to full-time graduate students (Masters and Ph.D.). The University Graduate Fellowships (UMGF) are awarded to students with superior academic achievement and intellectual ability.

The University offers a wide range of graduate programs (except for those offered in the Faculty of Medicine or the Master of Business Administration MBA).

University of Manitoba Postgraduate Scholarships Details
UMGF’s Masters Awards are worth $14,000 per annum for 12 or 24 months, up to a maximum of $28,000.
UMGF Doctoral Awards are worth $18,000 each year for 12 months.

The minimum GPA for students to be eligible is 3.0. Please check with your department, as they may require a higher GPA.

Consult your Department/Unit to find out the deadline and application process. Students are then recommended to the Faculty of Graduate Studies by the Department/Unit once they have made their selection. Deadline: Varies per faculty.
